Orthopaedic Consultant | Sports Knee Surgery & Knee Preservation Specialist
Dr Adam Farrier is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and specialist knee surgeon with expertise in sports knee injuries, ACL reconstruction, soft tissue knee surgery, cartilage surgery and knee preservation. He provides orthopaedic care for athletes, active individuals and non-athletes, focusing on accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment and long-term joint health.
He completed prestigious international fellowship training in knee surgery in Australia, working at Perth Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and Royal Perth Hospital, and in the UK at Wrightington Hospital. These centres are internationally recognised for advanced sports knee surgery, ligament reconstruction and cartilage preservation, and regularly manage elite and professional athletes alongside complex referrals.
Dr Farrier specialises in the management of knee pain, instability and sports-related knee injuries, offering both non-surgical and surgical treatments. Where possible, he prioritises knee preservation surgery to delay or avoid joint replacement, particularly in younger and active patients.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Farrier holds a PhD in cartilage biology, giving him specialist expertise in cartilage injury, early osteoarthritis and regenerative knee treatments. This allows him to combine modern surgical techniques with the latest scientific evidence to optimise patient outcomes.
